You should , with most groups, receive an email asking you to confirm your request.
Please be aware that some Email Groups are moderated, so your request to join will require approval from that list's manager. Your first few mails may also be moderated in order to safeguard the list from Spam or unwanted posts.

UK VI Cooks
Description
Hello and welcome to UK VI Cooks. This is a group where visually impaired people who enjoy cooking can share recipes, tips and hints on any aspect of cooking. Although we are based in the UK members from around the world are more than welcome to join. This is a friendly informal list.
VI Relationships
Description
a group for visually impaired people to discuss relationships whether it be tips for finding a suitable partner or any situation that may arise once in a relationship.
Second Hand Zone
Description
A Group for buying, selling, swapping or giving away Second Hand items.
"Members have to date sold/swapped/given away CD and vinyl or cassette music and books, Adaptive technology, Hifi equipment, mobile phones and much more!
It is absolutely free to join and/or to participate on Ibby's list and he hopes that many will join and enjoy the trading of second-hand goods."
Talking Books Arena
Description
The RNIB Talking Books Arena is an email group independent of RNIB which exists to discuss matters relating to audio books. Though it mainly discusses the RNIB Talking books library, discussion of other sources of audio books are welcome.
Recycle It
Description
This Group does exactly what it says and is a great list for Recycling your bits and pieces.
Goldwave 4 The Blind
Description
Goldwave is the most sophisticated sound editing suite available. With a little tweaking very accessible to the blind and their access technology. The full power of this awesome software is more than most can fully understand so the Goldwave for the blind list was created to allow users to come together to help each other.
A fully multinational list with some very knowledgeable experts freely giving their expertise to others who need it. A friendly well mannered list where problems are solved but not created. All members, expert or novice, are accorded equal respect.
DeafBlind Friends
Description
A group designed to support DeafBlind people where we all make friends and share our experiences etc.
The "Friends" part of the group means that we may invite our friends, family, support workers etc to join us for friendship and support.
The group is UK based but all DeafBlind people their friends and family world wide are welcome to join us, there are over 90 members to date.

Talks is the voice software for mobile telephone users.
Blind Football UK
Description
Welcome to the home of blind football in the UK.
Following the rules of futsal, the game is played by teams comprised of one sighted goalkeeper and four totally blind outfielders.
