When I allow the time to sit and think,
To remember the love and the compagnionship you gave so freely,
To take heart in the energy and joy you displayed,
It is then that my heart breaks.

Is there no where else to lay the blame,
I did not notice your pain,
When you depend on me and I upon you so,
I couldn’t even hold you and sooth your passing.
In no other will such trust remain,
You were my freedom.
